Movie Nights: Week in review
The week of 8.4-8.10
This week our movie nights were as follows!
Weekly Favorite;
Aletha & Marissa Agree “Trespassers” is the weekly favorite! It was good bloody fun.
Turistas: We love this one for nostalgic reasons but it is a fun one regardless! Well acted stupid travelers make bad decisions in a beautiful and tropical location is the gist! Some good tension fast paced plot and some creepy medical horror parts make this worth watching.
The Tutor: This one wasn’t terrible, it was shot pretty well had some decent acting (actually stranger things kid killed it) but the plot was so mild and pretty slow. Ending was pretty predictable, there was barely any violence and nothing really stuck out to make it worth watching.
Game Night: This is a fun one that takes you on a few twists and turns, Jason Bateman and Rachael McAdams have really good chemistry and are pretty funny together making the vibes feel more organic. As with any comedy its a little silly but has some darker themes and was worth watching.
Fatale: This one barely had any violence, or really any suspense. As horror lovers we would not recommend this one.
Heartthrob: We really like Keir Gilchrist in this creepy obsessive tale of dangerous love. A low key relatable film about a small town romance gone bad. Not the best message at the end but a unique story with some good creepy tones throughout that’s definitely worth a watch.
Trespassers: This gives The Rental (2020) vibes for a lil bit in the beginning but goes in a different direction, some great violence and one awesome kill scene in the middle make this movie worth watching.
Slumber Party Massacre: We love the original and went into this one blind. We were surprised at how funny it was, definitely a campy take that we were into. Very female focused and a bit silly at times but worth a watch.
Girlhouse: This very modern day horror movie was a pleasant surprise. Tons of eye candy for sure but an actually pretty believable killer with OG Maniac and Tourist Trap vibes. One particularly torturous (and hilarious in our opinion) maiming scene makes this movie worth watching.
