25 Days of Horror: Week Two
Week Two
Week two had some solid ones for sure, but favorite was Better Watch Out which also earned the kill of the week with the Paint can kill. This movie starts off with a babysitter watching a 12 year old and his friend. Without spoilers this movie starts as a home invasion story but there is a big twist that changes the whole situation. The main kid is SUCH a great actor, Levi Miller kills this role and really brings this movie to another level. The gore in this movie is not over the top but very enjoyable, the best kill is when someone gets their head impaled by a paint can swung from the ledge at the top of the stairs . We don’t actually get to see the hit just the reaction of the other characters and the paint and blood dripping down his feet in a beautiful shot. This was such a creative kill and very reminiscent of Home alone, we loved it.
Sick for toys is a twisted tale about a girl who uses men for sex and then her brother kills them. This movie is set at christmas time and the decorations are very prominant throughout. Not one to watch with the family there is male assult throuhout the film. The brother is incredibly creepy and helps her lure her “toys” and then kills them when she tires of them. The Brother and Sister duo are both clearly crazy but its so entertaining to watch. The main story is about a friend of one of the abducted men goes looking for him and starts to engage in a. relationship with the sister. Needless to say this ends badly. This movie is pretty low budget seemingly but shot well and worth a watch if you like Christmas horror and you’re not triggered by male rape!
Rare exports hits the other side of the spectrum being very family friendly. This is a cute story about a boy who finds out Santa is real and dangerous. It is an interesting twist on the classic Santa story and worth a watch for its originality and Christmas vibes.
Santa’s slay is a wild ride filled with thrills and kills. This movie is so much fun because the main character Bill Goldberg has so much fun with it! The kills are festive and fun! People get killed with everything from Candy Canes to Menorahs, this festive flick fills your thirst for holiday violence. Santa is a fallen demon who wrecks havoc and goes on a killing rampage. If you like Santa’s Slaying this is the movie for you.
Christmas Evil is a wild ride on the crazy Santa train. This santa is creepy! He makes lists of all the things the kids in his neighborhood do before Christmas before starting his murder spree. This one is a classic Horror Christmas Film and must be viewed in December, check it out!
The mean one turned out to be shot much better than we expected! We loved the way it ryhmes throughout just like the Grinch book. This movie doesnt take itself too seriously and has a lot of fun. The make up effects for “The Mean One” are fantastic he looks just how you’d expect an evil Grinch to look like. The movie is shot in the sleepy town of Newville and the protagonist is Cindy You Know Who and its pretty clever. We enjoyed it!
