25 Days of Horror: Week Three

Week Three:

Week three we had some great ones. Kicked it off with All through the house. This one is an LGBTQ story gone wrong. Reminiscent of Sleepyaway camp in a way. Silly and a little over the top you can tell they have fun with it! Gotta love the Evil Santa with the shears and the general creepy vibe throughout.

Anna and the Apocalypse is one of our all time favorites! Directed by John McPhail from a screenplay by Alan McDonald and Ryan McHenry (based on McHenry’s BAFTA-nominated short Zombie Musical you couldn’t ask for more from Anna an the Apocalypse when it comes to delivering a festive vibe.At every turn, there are lights, holiday sweaters, and candy canes — and don’t even get us started on the music! It is such a unique movie due to the musical aspect, and the soundtrack is good enough to stand alone as well. You can listen to and enjoy these songs all season long. It’s very clear that the creators of this film had some fun with it, and that’s what we love to see. The creative kills — including a seesaw decapitation, bowling ball head bash, and spatula stabbing — are awesome, and they are exactly what makes this movie so enjoyable. Zombies are always fun, and a Christmas Zombie Musical is just top-notch entertainment. Though it contains a cast of mostly unknowns, the acting is fantastic; these are all multi-talented young actors who care about what they are doing, and it shows. The characters have chemistry, and the dialogue is believable. There is never a dull moment in this film, but it never feels rushed and flows seamlessly.Anna and the Apocalypse is everything a Christmas horror film should be: well-written, well-acted, hilarious, gory, and so much fun.

Silent Night Deadly Night is another Christmas Horror Staple. This movie is NAUGHTY! With a top notch performance from Robert Brian William this movie is creepy and has fun. A young man who woeks in a toy store is made to dress as Santa and it triggers him, haunted by this parents deaths he becomes a serial killer! Its pretty funny throughout and definitely worth a watch.

The 2006 Black Christmas has a lot of fun and a little disturbing, especially when Billy’s mother abuses him. This twist on the 1974 Classic is the same basic premise of a deranged psycho staying in the Sorority house making deranged calls and killing them off one by one. A more modern take of course but very similar in plot. The kils you see make it worth watching.

Lake Alice is a lower budget horror film shot pretty well. The premise is at Christmas a girl comes back to her hometown with her boyfriend. People have been getting kidnapped in the area and they’re all on edge. They start to get attacked in their cabin home by a masked killer and chaos ensues. Fun and on the sillier side this one is worth a watch.

Krampus is one of our favorite Christmas Horror movies! The Cast is great we love Toni Collette and Adam Scott, they really come together to make this story relatable. We’ve always thought that Krampus and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation start pretty similarly. Having to spend time with family you dont connect with is horrific sitiuation off the bat, then it gets worse. There is a terrible storm that brings Krampus to their reality. It is so much fun with the evil Christmas characters and how they attack the family. The evil gingerbread cookie scene really makes us laugh. Krampus is probably one of the most fun of the modern Christmas Horror movies!
