Movie Nights: Week in review 10.25-10.31

This week Terrifier stole the show but we watched some other fun ones too!

Stream (2023)

Stream was overall a fun one, it was a bit longer than it needed to be but was worth it for the fun kills if you have a good time with that. There were some really cool masked killers which is just fun to watch. We thought the blood looked a little silly at some points but there are a good amount of creative kill scenes that we liked and the acting from the cast was decent. It felt like the main killer was trying to channel Art the Clown but maybe that is just our Terrifier recency bias either way we liked it. Technically Tim curry was in it. It was promoted to be his first feature film role since 2010 but he can only be seen in a mid-credit scene, and he's masked the entire time so it barley counts. We felt like 30 minutes could’ve been cut from this and it would’ve been more enjoyable but overall it was worth watching if you like killers who have fun but we’d suggest waiting until it is streaming free.

Terrifier (2016)

Terrifier Is one of our all time favorites. We actually watched it 3 times this week! It has our favorite kill of all time (you know the one) and one of our favorite villains of all time Art the Clown of course. It is humorous throughout because of the nature of a killer clown and has a very gritty and creepy vibe. It really feels like Halloween night. The score is also awesome which just intensifies how great the movie is. This is a must see for horror or gore lovers.

Terifier 2 (2022)

Terrifier 2 was one we were really looking forward to watching again because we had only seen it once before. We really enjoyed the gore throughout, it was great and we loved getting to see more of Art. We didn’t love the dream sequences we felt they didn’t really match the dark gritty vibe of the rest of the movies. The story was a bit sappy for us overall and we didn’t think it needed to be that intricate but we understand that is what most people are looking for. Art the Clown is always wroth a watch! We are so excited to see the newest installment Terrifier 3 soon.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019)

Scary stories to tell in the Dark is another one we watch every year, it has amazing halloween vibes. We love the soundtrack and the storyline is a lot of fun and progresses nicely. We were fans of the books growing up so it is great to see it portayted in this way. The actors do a fantastic job and it really feels pretty frightening at points especially considering its just kids (teenagers but still). This one also has a stellar soundtrack and really feels like the perfect fall in a small town vibe.

Fright Night (2011)

Fright Night is a lot of fun with some of our favorite actors in the cast. We love Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, Toni Collette, David Tennant and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. They all do an incredible job and have good chemistry and it really makes this movie more humorous. It is a fun remake and a great revamp of the original (pun intended). This one can be a little on the silly side but it is a horror comedy so I mean that is kinda what you’re signing up for. Great if you’re in the mood for a newer vampire flick with good characters that will make you laugh.
